WOYWW #283

iWhat a fast week. And I have spent more time with cats than crafts. We are going to Galveston for Thanksgiving so I am trying to train cats on a leash. Ms Kitty has gone out twice wearing it. She does not like the harness but at least I can get it on her. We bought Xochitl a special harness call a Kitty Harness and it arrived yesterday. We are in the early stage of sniffing it an chewing on it. It will not be easy as she was wild when I tried the other one on her. She has to have it on in the house and learn to love it(the makers words).

Not much on my desk as the kittens love to help. This is my Draw Your Awesome Year Journal a project with Joanne Sharpe. Joanne has an easy laid back style. So it is fun.

The other desk is what I call straightened only the stuff I do not know how to organize is left . Oh what the heck it is a mess. That bag is decades old it was a Clovis Ruffin piece. Have to look up who she was/is.

The journal was made on Sunday finished Monday. Today was Deane Day, it's when I go to Boerne to me my friend DeNis at her studio. We used to create together now we talk. She makes clothes for herself, mostly jackets and vests that she embroiders with whimiscal figures and beads.

So that's it for tonight. Cats want feeding and so does DH. Today it was over cast and supposed to rIn, so far nothing but a few seconds of drizzle and mist coming across the valley from the west.

Have a great week. Written Tuesday for posting Wednesday cst .......it remains 72F (22.22 C)

  3. Happy WOYWW. Good luck with the cat harness training. I do not think our cat, Milky, would put up with that. She either stays here and has her catflap to go in and out if we are away for 2-3 nights, or she goes to the cattery if it is a longer trip. She hates going in the car, but enjoys the cattery when she gets there. Love that bag - gorgeous design. Ali x #58

  4. Hi Monica,
    LOVE your open journal pages.

To have more than ONE work surface is my dream......I just love your studio and how it is arranged.

    What a view!!!!!!

Thanks for the visit this week Kido!

  5. Good luck with the harnessing the cats! Mine did not take to them at all and in fact Dh lost the big guy out of his harness when he freaked over a downspout so we gave up after that. Love that bag, wonderful design. Annette #18

  7. Lovely kitties Monica, and what a superb view you have! Your decking/veranda is magnificent. I think I'd want to spend all my time out there! Even in the rain it is beautiful. Hope you manage to get your kitty to walk with the harness. They get used to it eventually. When Beatrice had her operation on her neck and had to wear her little dress to stop her scratching at it, she was as good as gold!

Thanks for your lovely comment - I still pinch myself over my ARTHaven as I absolutely love it and can't believe it's my own special space! I am glad you like the album, and I hope I manage not to bulk it up too much before I'm done! Beatrice is doing OK but was sick with the new food last night so it may not be the right thing for her.

    Happy WOYWW,

  8. I love that you are trying to train your kitties for a leash, that is some task, I could just imagine what ours would think to that, they'd rather play with it than wear it I think.
Your journal is looking great, what lovely colours and what a view you have across the valley. Stunning.

  9. The story of the cat and harness makes me miss our daughter's cat. He learned to like the harness and leash, but it did take some time. There was a lot of lying down and rolling onto his back at first. {grin} Your journal looks lovely, as does your craft space. Both are bright and colourful. Matter of fact, your blog is too, {smile} What a beautiful view you have, rain or not!! That view is enough to make anyone feel creative. Lucky lady.

  10. Oh my, how do you get anything done with that view? it's awesome! Good luck with the kitty harness. I asked my old girl what she thought......... I doubt that's something I'll be trying soon. Thank you for your visit and the peek onto your desk this week, Cindy #38

  15. Lovely photo of the view over the Guadalupe in the rain. I don't associate Texas with rain but I suppose it must rain sometimes, same as here (we have a similar climate here in southern Spain)
How interesting, cats in a harness. If you succeed in training them you must share a photo. What a sight to behold! I'd love to see that.
Sorry I'm so late in commenting. I like to comment on all of the posts but there just aren't enough hours in the day...
Thank you for letting me look over your shoulder.
    Have a good week.

  16. Love the journal pages and the view from your deck. I love the Texas Hill Country. I have family that live scattered all around TX from Pampa to Galveston to El Paso. So much to see and do. I have a friend that says it is relatively easy to accustom the cats to harness when young and that teaching to walk on a leash is a bit harder but all her critters wear harness and walk on leashes. Have a great week. Vickie #68
