WOYWW week 345 10-3-2017

I am rather stunned to find it is time for WOYWW. Where has this week gone to and what have I accomplished.    Nothing except to spend two days immersed in Crazy Rich, Asians by Kevin Kwan and to have started Pachinko by Min Jin Lee, this is her second book and i read and enjoyed the first.  As a result, it is making me aware of how little I know about Asia, especially Korean history, and immigration. For light  reading Kwan is good for satire and gossip.   Not that my desk is cleaned off and tidy.  It does rather  bear witness to my creative block.
Above you see Xochitl's pink cushion on the chair that is her current demolition project.

This week in wanderlust it was Lorraine bell and she was pushing "draw/sketch every day.  it is really an admonition to practise, every day.  This is something that I have legions of sketch books that can testify that I only last a few days at this.  Then some friends posted bout inktober 2017.  Drawing with ink.  It appeared to be fun from their post but a visit to the inktober Instagram site showed that this was a challenge to the talented.

This morning was an early start, 7.30am for allergy testing.  Result show  my allergies are to cats, cockroaches, mites and cattle, a few trees and 6 molds.  enough to keep me sneezing year round.

hope you are all recovered from Llandudno and cropping.
Have a fun week and see you  later.

  1. Hi Monica, thanks for visiting my blog last week and I'm so sorry I couldn't return your visit until now. I hope I will never develop an allergy for cats - that would be disastrous! I could eliminate all the other allergens, but not cats! Hope you have a good week! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle

  2. Great storage!

And I looove the happy colour of ornge. :D
I´ve had a livingroom in burnt orange/ wamt terracotta in a former apartment and in my home before this I had orange
walls in my bedroom. Now I have textiles in orange in our
bedroom. So I just have to have that colour somewhere.

    Have a wonderful week!

  3. Afternoon Monica. Goodness - that allergy list is quite something... You could indeed be sneezing all year round! Drawing with ink... hmm. Indeed sounds like a challenge for those who already know what they are doing!
    Take care. God bless.

  4. Do you know Monica - you've summed up why I don't take part in challenges. I start off with enthusiasm and then it sort of peters out after a week! I've never been a diary or journal keeper either, for much the same reason. The allergy results were interesting but how can you avoid all those things?

  5. Hi Monica, sorry to hear that you have been shown to be allergic to so many things. I love cats, but their fur makes me sneeze and wheeze after a while so I know how you feel. Hope you get back to sketching soon! Sarah #20

  8. You and I are both allergic to cats! We've had one or two cats pretty much since I was 13 years old - won't get rid of any cats! And hopefully your beautiful Xochitl won't be going anywhere either! I too like the "idea" of drawing everyday - and I did do it for a little while. Your craft room looks so inviting!
My Inky is very treat oriented, she is trained to come when called (if she's close enough to hear me call)and also keeps a morning in-and-out schedule, with treats at around 11am. She never gets anything else, such as scraps as treats, so it works well, as we are very consistent. Thanks for your earlier visit, have a great week! Lindart #32

  9. Hi Monica, these look like desks in waiting! Sorry to hear about your allergies. Some years ago I had a similar problem then we moved house and it disappeared and no one knew why other than there must have been something in the house that was aggravating me, strange! Have a great woyww and a happy crafty week, Angela x11x

  10. Ooh Monica, you under estimate yourself...get into Inktober! I'm useless at lasting the cours in any of these challenges. I discovered this on about the 15th of December the first year I tried December Daily. Now I just admire from afar, commitment phobic or something! My god-dog is currently on an attack and destroy mission on his bed. He's had it six months and now all of a sudden...it's very strange! Love the shots of your room and desk, all those warm colours...yum.
