468 WOYWW

Trying to get this week going.  Problems all round.  Last week I was in San Antonio getting new hearing aids.  The cost is enough to give you a stroke and learning all the accessories and the way to use them requires reading , downloading and trying to remember up down , left right , hold 2 secs etc..  It is a Phonak Audeo B90 -312 that has all kind of built in microphones and noise control but to hear properly requires accessories.  I have a ComPilot 2 9 has around 10 functions and a Roger (acronym for something) and this cuts out noise in conversations where there are several people as in a restaurant or meeting also directs TV sound to hearing aids.  It does work though too much noise can drown it out.  It can also work with a TV .  There is a learning curve and it is frustrating.  There has not been much time for art or computers etc.  Today we are off out to lunch at the noisiest restaurant we know (Chili's) to try it.
(Chris worked hard to position the poster over my head!)

Here i am hooked up with ComPilot 2 and below Chris wearing Roger.

We chose this restaurant to eat as it is usually crowded, noisy and it has TV's everywhere and music on sound system.  it was not crowded but the noise level was high.   I could hear and understand Chris, SO system works.  With old hearing aids no possibility of hearing.

and my desk

I am trying to work on Wanderlust this week as they had a fabulous teacher, Maireke Borkland from Holland and her class was incredible.  Actually all their artists are so very good.  This class was exceptional and she gave notes that make it possible to learn her technique.   She is online and so now I follow her. This is from her free workshop.  I kinda went nuts and used them for my daily calendar in Life Documented. Her free workshop is worth every minute.

She has summer school coming up.  Alas my time is filled for the summer  though she is sure to teach other online classes.

Wanderlust had prompt "where I feel safe".  Inspired by Clarice Cliff pottery I made this, watercolors and photo paper.

Well that is all for this week Will check you out and visit early then later in the day.

  3. Oh my goodness Monica, what an adventure you've been having with the new hearing aids!! It made me laugh because of the fun and games we had with Mum and hers - she had to have really simple ones that adjusted themselves because she hadn't a clue about anything technical, and I can just imagine her if she'd had your sort!! I'm glad they worked OK, though, and the experiment you did to test them sounded right up my street - anything to do with eating has to be good lol!! Love your creative stuff too - you're on a roll with Wanderlust, aren't you! Thank you for your lovely comment - yes, I'm doing fine, and beginning to enjoy life again. Our kitties are so big now, all grown up. They'll soon be going out in the garden.

Happy WOYWW and happy 9th anniversary,

  14. So glad to read about your new hearing aids. I've had ear problems since I was about 25, having worked in a very, very loud factory for a very long time. Both my ears show I have no hearing in very specific zones. It appears those must be very good hearing aids.

Your desk looks great and I am always impressed with the classes your take.

I want to thank you for your incredibly kind and thoughtful comment you left today. It made me feel special.

Thanks again for visiting me earlier. Hope you are enjoying the WOYWW party. Happy 9th anniversary from #13.

I'm glad the new hearing device works for you, hearing is so important and we only notice when it's gone isn't it? Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday and happy anniversary to you too! 16. So glad the new hearing aid seems to be working - hope it continues to do so but what a kerfuffle to get it together and understand the usage.
Didn't join Wanderlust - joined the first one but I don't have the weekly commitment needed so wasted my money - will check our your lady though - thanks!
Have a lovely WOYWW Anniversary - hands across the sea and all that.
    Hugs, Neet 12 xx
