week 465 WOYWW

Thank you everyone for your kindness and understanding when I wrote last week of my trials and tribulations with Menieres.  Life is a lot calmer now the symptoms have abated.  Not quite gone, I feel them lurking like I felt as a kid that goblins and bears lurked on the stairs, round that bend at the top.

Now trying to catch up with journals and life in general.

My work space that I cleaned up 2 days ago and decided it looked sad,  yesterday made backgrounds and today, two for my Wanderlust journal.  Workspace is looking happier.

The large journal to the rear is my Wanderlust schedule.  Painted the kraft cover as I hate that color.  It always blows my lid off when visiting sites and people make wonderful things with kraft paper.  Please note cheap paints.  I have some Dick Blick artists acrylics but they are so stiff and if I mix acrylic glazing mix with them they take hours to dry.  I need to explore some of the more fluid acrylics.

Below is my desk area.  I do some journaling here and the occasionally paint using watercolors /markers or what ever I have just watched a video about!  The orange patterned thing to the right is a holder for glasses.  Now I require reading glasses I have 7 pairs scattered around the house.  Containers too, usually empty.  Searching for reading glasses is becoming a routine activity.  Guess what ! Amazon, Google  Apple etc NOT one of them has an assistant that if you ask "where are my glasses"  can help.  They can tell you the population of outer Mongolia, the latest top selling car in Yalta but not where you left your glasses.

As a result of these trial and tribulations  I am constantly in motion.

So life goes on and tonight darling hubby will suffer through a home made nourish bowl, filled with leftovers, forgotten veggies and fruits and the remains of the chicken from last night.  He is very noble and never complains about my food experimentation.

I changed my gym schedule so have more time in the morning but less in the afternoon.  I am now in the "Senior" class.  This means we do not have to get up and down from the floor.
Have a good day everyone I hope this week to visit more than last week.

  2. Love the look of those pages, I understand completely were you are coming from with the acrylic paints.. It can be very annoying when you need something to dry faster than is possible. It's one of the reasons I use lots of acrylic inks, they dry super fast and can be helped along without any interference of colour.
Funny about the *Where are my Glasses* comment, I put mine on my head and still forget where I have put them and have been known to have more than one pair on my head at a time without realising the first pair was there..!!
    Thank you for sharing WOYWW

  3. I'm really glad that your vertigo is better but I know what you earn about it just lurking around the corner to catch you unawares. Sending big hugs.
I don't know if I've ever mentioned it before but I really love your bright orange backdrop to your desk, it's a wonderful colour and I love the fact that your artwork is always 'in-your-face' colourwise as well. Life is too short to be neutral and boring!

  4. I missed weeks (months!) of desk-posts so I didn't know you suffer from Menieres, glad it's going better now. And reading glasses mean that you don't have to go to the gym, as you (we... yes, me too!) spend hours walking around to look for them, that's some excercise! Happy woyww and a big hug from Holland, Marit #23

  5. Hello Monica! Thank you for visiting my blog and also being my first comment of the day! It's nice to meet you. I did not know what Menieres was and had to look it up. I am hoping you have a better day today. Seems we all struggle with something or other. I am experiencing a flair up of my plantar facciitis and trying to make peace with the pain. My mantra is "This too shall pass" and knowing that it eventually improves keeps me from getting into a funk. I love your craft space. It's so bright and cheerful. I also like the colors you selected for your art. Well I am off to go peek at more desks. Have a blessed day my new friend!

  6. Hi Monica, so glad to hear that your symptoms have much improved. They really ought to make some sort of attachment for glasses like those key fobs you can get, which beep when you whistle lol. Have a good week. Sarah #9

  8. LOL Your multiple 'empty' glass holders made me giggle. I hadn't thought of creating a holder for them! Spam cans would work wonderfully for this. Guess what I'll be painting this week :-D
Thank you so much for your visit this morning. FYI, Bear always looks sad unless you see his tail wag. Definitley an Eyore kind of mindset. That picture is the one I took when I first discovered his health issue.
I've never known anyone else with menieres before! Mine developed after a double ear infection 2 years ago. The fullness comes on mostly at night and drives me nuts trying to sleep. Such a lot of creativity.
Speaking of, Creative Blessings! Kelly #24

  9. Hi there. Love the fact that your specs holder is almost always empty - I keep putting mine down and forgetting where they are - only use them for close work... Glad you are feeling considerably better - long may the improvement last!! Great pages there on your desk - definitely happy colours!
    Take care. God bless.

  10. Hi Monica thanks for your earlier visit, glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. Yep my diet these last few days has been pretty weirds - I gravitate towards all the things the OH doesn't like but I can't say all of the meals are very balanced!! Made me chuckle with your comment about the assistant - now, one that could find where you had put things would be very useful!! Love those bright colours on your journal and pages - definitely a happy desk! Oh, and I tend to gravitate toward those senior groups these days...... just alittle more my pace... Happy WOYWW Cindy

  12. I like the sound of that Seniors class!
You made me smile re the saga of the glasses, thank goodness I wear varifocals as I don't have the same problem but I can imagine I would if I had just readers.
Glad your Menieres has abated a lot - here's hoping it stays that way.
Hugs, Neet (who quit Wanderlust after one week - the first time - I just couldn't keep up) xx

  18. Your work space is so cheerful and warm. Mine is so darn cold white, you inspired me to do a makeover. I hope you are well , I googled your disease and it really looks awful, Monica. You don't like kraft paper? Not possible! ;-)
